Distance course in Diagnostic Imaging at Massey University - starts February 2010

Hone your skills in taking and interpreting radiographs with this in-depth distance course for international veterinarians, taught by Mark Owen BVSc DiplECVDI FACVSc(veterinary radiology). This course will get you using your equipment to its best advantage, enable you to systematically approach radiographic interpretation and familiarise you with special radiographic procedures and the role of other diagnostic imaging modalities. Have confidence in your decisions. Gain skills that will help you every day in practice.

Course materials include a study guide, textbook, online materials and three days of lectures and practical sessions. There will be a large online component in this paper with digital images, case material and class discussion.

Benchmark your progress. This course is fully assessed by assigned work and examination and can contribute to a postgraduate qualification.

Specialist Small Animal Surgeon Required - Melbourne, Australia

Advanced Vetcare is a multi-disciplinary Specialist Centre in central Melbourne. Our purpose-built hospital supports specialist medicine lead by Dr Steve Holloway, specialist small animal surgery lead by Sam Snelling, 24 hr emergency and critical care and consultants in behaviour, ophthalmology and physiotherapy.

We are looking for a second specialist small animal surgeon to join the team to help support our growing caseload. Our centre has all the equipment required for specialist practice including operative fluoroscopy, on-site CT, computed radiography, EMG, high-end ultrasound, video endoscopes, a large range of minimally invasive surgical equipment, cemented and uncemented THR and almost daily access to MRI.

We are a wholly veterinary-owned practice that aims to practice the best quality surgery and medicine in a practical fashion. We are a team with one management structure across all services allowing a patient-oriented intergrated approach to case management. We are committed to meeting the needs of our patients, owners and strong referral base. Our practice has grown rapidly in the 2 1/2 years since opening and we are looking for a new member of the team to continue this expansion. The position is full-time with generous remuneration offered to the right candidate.
